Moving to So Cal
Well folks, I'm moving to Sierra Madre, CA ( coincidence that my dog is named 'Sierra' as well? ) in July, 2017. So does that mean my So Nevada information will stop and decease? Not by a long shot. I'm planning to return at least every other month .. do AirBnb and continue adding to my So Nevada pages. My last month here, June, you will start seeing dog hikes in the Mt Charleston area . There are a ton so it will take me some time to fill up that category. In the meantime .. I will start adding dog hikes in and around So Calif but mostly around Sierra Madre, CA which includes the Angeles National Forest .. and the very challenging Mt Wilson Trail.
Hiking Mt Wilson Trails
Now that I've settled in Sierra Madre I'm walking distance to many Mt Wilson trails. The trails can be quite busy during the weekend but I try and do my hiking during the week or just get to the Mt Wilson trailheads early (before 7am). There are 3 take off points in Sierra Madre .. they all criss cross and can eventually lead you up to the top of Mt Wilson. Great trails for all types of hikes. Some very pretty .. others just nice. Mt Wilson Trailheads Bailey Canyon - Trailhead starts at a very quaint small park. From there you can do a 5 mile hike to Bailey Campsite .. and then further on to Jones Peak. This trail can take you directly up to Mt Wilson (fire road) or cut over to main Mt Wilson trail for a better experience. Mt Wilson Trailhead - The main trailhead to Mt Wilson Chantry Flats - Further up the mountain this has the most beautiful trails as well as different routes up to Mt Wilson.
